ABOUT
My drive as a designer is to create useful and inspired experiences for everyday problems. After my study Design for Interaction at the TU Delft I now am a UX designer with 8 years of experience in structuring, designing and researching software, web-applications and apps. Through his experience I’ve grown into a UX senior/lead role.

My design process
I am a big advocate of working with a solid design process. At the core I use design thinking as well as double diamond and service design doing. Throughout the years I've developed my own templates and methods that enable me to quickly adapt to new/different situations and still be able to go through the necessary design process steps.

UX for me is
• Effortless - functional design with clear purpose
• Empathic - doing user research (UX - U = X, where X means 'dont do it')
• Inclusive - human-centered & stakeholder collaboration
• Creative and iterative process - Test often and early

Next to UX design I'm also experienced in:
User research (operations)
I've shaped the user research operations at NS International. Now all customer facing research actions go through the same 8 steps with guiding templates. From initiatives on a kanban-board to well documented insights in confluence. This enabled user research to become accessible to perform for others or just find relevant insights for their work.

Coaching / training
I love teaching and mentoring other designers. I've coached UX designers at KPN and Decathlon. As well as user research interns and co-workers.

UX strategy and innovation
After a year of working at NS International we were often working on initiatives that don't solve the major customer pain points or needs. Often they were technical or prioritized because of business goals.
A more balanced and user-centric innovation framework was created: from strategic themes initiatives are pitched with customers needs and pains at their basis. With an approved pitch all projects go through the double diamond process. After MVP launch products are continuously optimized via usability research, customer feedback and AB-testing.
